CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

AFTERNOON EXPRESS Complete vinyasa practice in one hour! Perfect after school, before a busy evening or while your kids take a Kids Yoga class.

CANDLELIT FLOW Set to music and lit only by candles, a soulful vinyasa class that builds heat, strength and flexibility while allowing the mind to achieve a deeper meditation, enhanced by the darkness. Attention is paid to the alignment of the physical form as well as to the subtle energy body (chakras).

CANDLELIT FLOW-FREESTYLE FRIDAYS! On Freestyle Fridays, our teachers take requests for poses that you'd like to especially practice or body parts that need extra special attention. We also feature different musicians of all genres. This is the class to get creative!

COMMUNITY CLASS Community classes are a great way for students new to our studio to try a class or two...or a few! Denoted with a "(C)" on our class schedule, and costs $8 (cash only) unless otherwise noted. 50% of the proceeds benefit a charitable organization that resonates with our teacher, and the other 50% benefit an organization of our studio's choice. CORE YOGA Want to find your inner strength and power? A vigorous, Pilates-inspired class focused on strengthening and stretching the core. Whether you are looking for firmer abs, working to alleviate back pains, or are striving to elevate your practice as a whole, this is the class for you! All levels welcome!

FLOW 1 An ideal class for our newest yogis! A vinyasa-inspired introduction to the fundamentals of yoga that introduces ideal postures (asanas), hand movements (mudras) and breathing (pranayama). Class is conducted at a gentler pace.

FLOW 2/3 A dynamic and challenging class for those who strive to deepen a regular yoga practice. Explore more advanced poses and creative sequences, using strength and flexibility, at a more energetic tempo.

KIDS YOGA Yoga is a fun way for kids to build strength, spirit and self-esteem. We foster creativity, cooperation, and confidence in a safe environment where all kids are perfect just the way they are! See Kids Program page for schedule and other details.

LUNCH EXPRESS Comprehensive vinyasa practice packed into one hour! The intense sequencing provides a full mind and body workout. A fun way to fit in a workout during your lunch break!

MEDITATION Meditation can improve the quality of our lives by developing inner peace, compassion and wisdom. Through the use of basic yet fundamental exercises, we can learn to shed the causes of our emotional and physical pain and suffering, and gain the inner happiness we seek. All are welcome to experience the essential teachings of the Buddha within the Mahayana tradition, regardless of race, creed or culture!

MYSORE ASHTANGA Ashtanga is traditionally taught in the "Mysore" style, named for the city of Mysore in South India. Mysore Ashtanga is a specialized and highly personalized approach to teaching. Each student is taught the sequence of postures individually; given a one-on-one lesson within a group class. Every student is supported in an ongoing program that is appropriate for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.

OPEN FLOW An open-level class where energizing postures that develop strength and flexibility are combined with coordinated breath and movement to release tensions held in the body. Modifications are given so that every pose is accessible to students of varying levels.

PRANAYAMA A special class that will strengthen your yoga practice beyond the physical limits. Pranayama is a Sanskrit word composed of "prana," life force or vital energy, particularly, the breath, and "ayama," to extend or draw out, and means the ability to expand our life force by controlling the breath. By controlling the breath, one can control the mind. A multitude of breathing patterns will be taught to draw in, build and fill the body with energy. All are welcome to join for FREE!

PRENATAL YOGA A gentle class designed to ease the aches and pains of mommies-to-be in a nurturing and supportive environment. Class will focus on special breathing techniques and opening the hips, preparing the body for labor and post-partum recovery, as well as maintaining flexibility and muscle strength.

POSTNATAL YOGA (MOMMY & ME) Postnatal yoga helps to rejuvenate moms, addressing the aches and energy challenges of the postpartum parent, renewing mom, and meeting the needs of baby and the new mother. All parents and caregivers welcome as well as babies that are 6 weeks to 2.5 years old!

STRETCH & RELAX YOGA A class that emphasizes the deep and juicy stretch of all major muscles and connective tissues through a series of slow movements and breath awareness. We seek ways to release tightness in your body, whether it's in your hips and shoulders or hamstrings and quads. We end the class with relaxing, resting pose to prepare your body and mind for the new week!

SUNRISE EXPRESS Start your morning mindfully at a heart-warming and heart-opening class inspired by sun salutations!

UNNATA® AERIAL YOGA Unnata is the Sanskrit word for "elevated," meaning both elevated in spirit and physically elevated. With the weight of the body supported, students learn how to achieve proper postural alignment through relaxation rather than effort, enhancing a relaxed and peaceful state of mind as well.

*We ask that you wear a shirt with sleeves and long shorts or pants for Unnata® Aerial Yoga to prevent chaffing and preserve our aerial silks.

YIN YOGA The perfect compliment to your dynamic (yang) yoga practices and busy city life! Focusing on long-held passive floor poses combined with breath work and meditation, yin yoga is a deep practice that targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that are not exercised in a more active style of asana practice, and helps students not only to open the body, but also to cultivate a meditative component of practice. All levels are welcome!

YIN YOGA FOR RUNNERS & CYCLISTS A yin class that focuses the specific areas that affect runners and cyclists the most. Special attention will be paid to the hamstrings, hips, IT bands, lower back and shoulders. Use yoga as part of your cross-training with sequences and techniques that will increase your athletic performance, improve your balance and posture, and strengthen your mental focus. Students need not be athletes to join class, and all levels welcome!

YOGA4CANCER (Y4C) A gentle class that includes meditation, breathing exercises and soothing yoga sequences for yogis during and after cancer treatment. All stages are welcome, and prior yoga experience is not necessary.
